1.When do I need to RSVP by?

Please RSVP by 1st of August 2025 so we can finalise our guest list. You can RSVP via this website, by email, or by phone—whichever is easiest!

2. Can I bring a plus one?

Sure—just please make sure to include their details in your RSVP.

3. What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

We will try our best to accommodate dietary requirements—please note of any when you RSVP.

4. Is there a dress code?

Yes! We’re requesting cocktail attire. We encourage colours and we kindly request to avoid white—for obvious reasons. The wedding will be in a garden setting, so maybe consider retiring your stilettos for our event ;) If you’re unsure on what to wear, just reach out.

5. Is there reserved seating?

No—we will not be doing assigned seating, as we are having a buffet-style dinner. But rest assured, there will be seats and tables.

6. Do you have a wedding registry or gift preference?

Your presence (and dance moves) are the greatest gifts we could ever ask for! However, if you’re feeling extra generous, we’ll have a wishing well at the wedding. Every bit helps us kick off married life with a little tropical sunshine—in other words, a honeymoon to Fiji (so we can come back with a tan and a million stories to tell). But truly, no pressure—having you there to celebrate is what matters most!

7. I’m travelling to Sydney for the wedding. Where’s the best place to stay?

Sydney offers a range of hotels and Airbnbs. We suggest looking for accomodations around the CBD, Darling Harbour, and Surry Hills, which are convenient and lively.

8. For international guests, what do we need to travel to Australia?

  • Visa Requirements: Most travelers will need a visa, so hop on over to immi.gov.au (the official Australian government site) to find out which type applies to your passport. Pro tip: give yourself enough time—processing can sometimes take a while.

  • Biosecurity & Customs: Australia is serious about protecting its unique flora and fauna. That means no bringing in fresh fruit, veggies, meats, or plant/animal products. When in doubt, declare it on your incoming passenger card.

  • Electricity & Power Adapters: Australia uses Type I sockets, which look like our plugs are doing a ‘V for victory’ sign. Pack a compatible adapter, or befriend a friendly hardware store once you’re here.

9. How do we get to the venue?

Our wedding will take place at the Royal Botanic Gardens, located on Mrs Macquarie Road, Sydney NSW 2000. Here are a few travel tips:

  • By Public Transport (Train/Ferry/Bus): Take a train or bus to Circular Quay station, which is roughly a 10–15 minute walk from the Gardens.

If you’re coming from another part of the city, you can also get off at Martin Place (Metro) or St James (Train) station and walk through the Domain to the Gardens.

Ferries arrive at Circular Quay from a range of stops across Sydney Harbour. From Circular Quay, you can walk along the water’s edge toward the Opera House and follow signs for the Royal Botanic Gardens.

  • By Car or Taxi/Rideshare: Simply enter “Royal Botanic Gardens, Mrs Macquarie Rd” into your GPS or rideshare app. Traffic can be heavy on weekends and event days, so plan accordingly. Limited metered street parking is available around the area, but we recommend checking local parking stations (like those near the Domain or in the city) if you’re driving.

Taxis and rideshares can drop you off near one of the main entrances on Mrs Macquarie Road.

  • Walking from Nearby Landmarks: If you’re exploring Sydney before the wedding, you can easily walk from popular spots like the Sydney Opera House or Circular Quay. The Royal Botanic Gardens entrance is well-signposted and just a short stroll away.

  • Inside the Gardens: The Royal Botanic Gardens cover a large area. Our wedding will be held in the Lion Gate Lodge, so keep an eye out for the signs to direct you to the venue.

If you’re unsure about directions or timing, give us a shout. We want to make sure everyone arrives smoothly and can enjoy the beautiful garden setting!

10. What’s the best way to get around Sydney?

Sydney has trains, buses, and ferries. Rideshare apps and taxis are widely available, and renting a car can be helpful for traveling beyond the city (but keep in mind Sydney traffic and driving on the left).

11. We’ll be staying in Sydney for a while. Any recommendations on what to see, eat, and do?

Don’t miss the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, and the Blue Mountains (great for a day trip). Explore Chinatown, the trendy eats in Newtown, or enjoy waterfront dining at Circular Quay. Feel free to head over to Broadsheet for our top picks of best places to eat in Sydney https://www.broadsheet.com.au/sydney/guides/best-restaurants

12. What should we bring?

Sydney’s weather can be unpredictable, so bring layers. Pack comfortable shoes for exploring and for the reception. Don’t forget to leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs!

13. Who can we contact for more information?

Feel free to reach out to us if you have further questions. We’re here to help!
